My name is Nathan and I currently live in Kirkland, Washington. I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest most of my life and I really enjoy it here.
Like most people, my career has been full of ups and downs. I’ve worked at large and small companies, mostly doing product and marketing management. I’ve also tried a few startups over the years. I have been involved in some solid wins that I’m proud of. I’ve also learned a few lessons that I bring with me to every challenge.
What I do
When I describe product management, I say I am there to help organizations take the resources they have and build the right things for the right audience at the right time. I’m also there to do whatever it takes to make sure everyone feels connected and informed while avoiding any disasters.
I love product management because I get to work with people across the organization. At the same time, I am able to get out in the field and see the impact of what we do for customers and partners. I’m motivated by big challenges and new opportunities, and I totally geek out when exploring the possibilities of new technologies. I find product management lets me feed my curiosity while providing a path to grow as a professional every day. Here is my resume if you want to learn a bit more about my experience.
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to conceive, build, and launch many new initiatives from end-to-end. These include all new products, rewrites of old systems, enhancements of existing solutions, and extensions into new markets. Of course, I know that every product is different, every company has its nuances, every technology is consistently evolving, and every market is constantly changing. So while I’ve learned a few lessons along the way, I know that it is critical to bring a fresh perspective and an open mind to every new challenge.
Hobbies and Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and photography. I also like to tinker with technology a bit. I have few web applications I’m working on that I’d be happy to talk about if you are curious. In our personal time, my wife and our three kiddos love to go on adventures in nature together.
